YOLO - Yes, You Only Live Once

 

Spain started 
Calling my name,
The year 

My post I-Do life 

Became official.

And images of being

My own leading lady: 

Eating less, praying more,

And loving (me) more became

My current obsession. 

Then my 30-something friend called and said, 

Let's teach English

in Thailand instead, and YOLO.

And my fifty-something self thought about it a day 

Or two,

And then said, 

Okay, let's YOLO.

And I packed 3 suitcases,

And joined the backpack

set who had less baggage

than I did.

And I put Spain

In my back pocket

For that summer.
